There are ten district courts in Nevada.  The district courts have jurisdiction over civil cases involving amounts in excess of $10,000.  These are the courts where criminal, civil, family, and juvenile matters are generally resolved through arbitration, mediation, and bench or jury trials.  The judges also hear appeals from justice and municipal court cases.

The district court that has jurisdiction over Clark County, Nevada, is the Eighth Judicial District Court.
